| | determined | ] | Ok, so a friend of mine from college, Anthony Geehan, is in a band called Hello Ninja. They made the top 15 finalists for FNX's contest to open for Coldplay when they play Boston. I'm actualy not sure they even like Coldplay that much, but if you think about it, this could still be one of the most exciting things that could happen to a local, relatively unknown band.
We have to get him on the big stage, so please vote for him! It's easy!
1) go to http://www.coldplayontour.com/wfnx/
2) Hello Ninja is the SECOND TO LAST video on the page.
3) Give those kids a glorious 10 star review to boost their rating!
4) While you're at it, give everyone else a shitty 1 star rating to level the playing field!
I believe the top three ranked bands will go onto one more final round.
This could be Anthony's big break, or at least become one of the best experiences of his life, so please vote for him! It takes no time at all, you don't even need to watch the videos.
Thank you! |

| | The Clash - Police & Thieves | ] | I feel like I should care that I'm not back home this week. Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah, but the college schedule only cares to have kids off of campus in time for Christmas. I really feel like I should be more offended that I can't spend time with my family on my religious holiday, and I am essentially forced to miss it completely. We all know that shit wouldn't fly if it were Christmas. I feel like I should care, but really, I don't. I just feel like I should. It's not like I really observe the holidays anyway.
I missed the con this past weekend, which was unfortunate, but the cards didn't stack right for it. For one thing, I had work to do. I'm in college, it happens. On another note, I wanted to see Sally do her moot court debates, in which she litigated a hole through people. Good job, Sally.
I have about three weeks left of school, two for classes and one for finals. I've received my final project assignments in three of my five classes, one of which is due this Thursday. It would have been nice to have more than one week for that one, but it shouldn't be too bad.
I look forward to the holiday break, and if I make any more entries between now and then, I'll probably say that again. |

| | Postal Service - Don't wake me | ] | Fantastic New York trip this weekend.
Alex, Matty, Sally, Doxey, and myself went up for a Summer's End meeting, which only took about five hours out of the mon-sun trip. Had a lovely time with Julia, Max, and Jared in Brooklyn during the meeting.
Sam, Alex's good friend who I have been aquaintenced with for the last couple of years was apartment sitting in West Greenwich, one of my favorite areas of Manhattan(the entire village, I mean), for this incredible apartment complex. I think it was owned by an ex broadway actor? Maybe? I might have just made that up, but I don't think so. Either way, Sam was staying on the top floor, which was a gorgeous and spacious two bedroom that was well decorated and had access to the roof, which was a garden/hang out area that over looked a nice portion of Greenwich. Seriously, why not me? Fucking dream home.
We walked around a lot, of course. Saw some amazing graffiti, hit some thrift stores, partied with Sam's friends, and saw some sights. We hit up Times Square, because why not? Did a lot of shopping and picture taking. Toys R' Us, The Nintendo Store, and this really awesome Japanese book store that I can't remember the name of were our greatest hits since we were pressed for time. That Japanese bookstore had some amazing anime lithos, posters, and movies that I picked up because I'm a geek. The Nintendo Store was a lot of fun. They had glass displays of gameboys from over the years, including one that was blown up in the Gulf War and could still play Tetris. Also, for the sake of not forgetting it, when we were in the Virgin Megastore we were standing around, not knowing where to go, and as I turned around to look at the escalator, I saw a man in a full detailed spider-man outfit slowly appear over the horizon. He had a spider-man luggage bag, one leg up Captain Morgan style, and was dancing and grooving to the crazy techno that the store was playing as the escalator slowly brought him up and towards us. Another reason why Spider-Man is one of the greatest heroes ever.
So yeah, got back to the house at 3a.m., crashed, woke up at 8 for work, and now here I am. I kind of feel like a rusted automaton who remembers how to function but can't quite move properly.
Maybe pictures will come later. |

| | The Reaganauts | ] | Such a good time last night. I needed that. The Reaganauts and Math the Band played a show last night in the Auby Kitchen and it was incredible. This band, The Antiques, came in from Boston to play, and this other guy who called himself "The Alps" came in from fucking Australia. That was kind of bad ass. It was a good concert. The Antiques were allright, but their set list was too long and their music was too mellow, it was kind of an energy killer. The Alps was interesting. He was an electronic experimental kind of guy... like, if I had heard it on a CD I would probably just be like, "this is pretentious and annoying, shut it off." But seeing it in person was really enjoyable, it's amazing what he did to produce the sounds he made. Then Acoustic Math came on, followed by Electric Math, followed by the Reaganauts. JD and I danced ourselves to oblivion from Electric Math through the Reaganauts, probably about two hours of continuous rocking.
Oooo, and The Reaganauts dedicated a song to me, it made me really happy. Although, I'm not sure how they found out about that day I had at the end of the summer, it was one of the worst in a few years. Oh well, on that night, that song was for and about me, and it made me reflect on that day and think everything was allright. So Long, So Cal, indeed.
I'm at home right now. Tomorrow Dwight and Tiff are coming over and spending the night so that early in the morning we can go Wii hunting together. It will be epic.
I'm still feeling good from that concert. |

I had to share this. Cody and I got a huge kick out of it. Even if you don't laugh out loud like we did, you can at least appreciate the quality editing it took to make this. Unless youre not a film major and wouldnt know anything about editing :P
But still, enjoy! |

I just saw a clip from RHCP's new video. Anthony Kiedis looks like a band member from Green Day now. This is heartbreaking. Under the Bridge might have been the first good rock song I ever rocked out to back when they first released it as a single. And now theyre going the way of Green Day... who also happened to be one of my favorites before I was even ten, long before they went stupid. Honestly, who in the bands said, "lets make our music generic and look like idiots!" It's really just annoying. |

Lets say, hypothetically, that I were to come home this weekend. And If that happened, and I hypothetically didn't have a car available to me, would there be anyone willing to give me a ride to and from Matt Ditt's house for the All Hallow's Eve shin-dig?
This is all assuming I get home in the first place this weekend. |

[Jul. 28th, 2005|12:31 am] |
I spent $40 at Brett's today. I got a hardcover volume of a
series that he recommended to me, and a tpb of a nother one that he
recommended, and an issue of F4 because I need to get back into that.
Tonight, Chris, Steph, Dara, and myself bought and played DDR on a
whim. It was my first time playing it and i was shockingly
horrible at it. Which is weird, because im generaly not terrible
with anything that requires agility and coordination, it was kind of
off putting, but all good, because its a lot of fun.
So yeah, Dispatch.
Tomorrow myself and the rest of our film crew from The Last Dispatch
(four other guys) are heading down to Boston in the after noon to meet
up with Zox, and then Dispatch, and then head to the private premier of
the Dispatch movie.
We're probably going to do lunch with the band, then split from them,
lounge around Boston, and then head to the theatre. I'm excited.
If anyone just happens to be in Boston tomorrow night, they are holding
a public screening of the movie right after the private one, but youll
have to get there early to get tickets (and between you and me, the
band is planning on being at that public show aswell)
We're going to get back really late in the a.m. though, which is why I
wanted a co-pilot for the ride to Greenfield the next day, so I wouldnt
have to worry about being conscious enough to watch the road and
directions. Oh well.
**Offer is still open** :)

| anyone need a ride? |
[Jul. 26th, 2005|11:30 am] |
If I have a car this weekend I'll be driving down to the campout.
Because my Thurs night is going to be a long one, I'm thinking I might need a co-pilot/navigater for that trip so I can focus on the road and not directions. If anyone needs a ride up, and i'm pretty sure i'll have the car (which is the only reason I havnt offered anyone a ride yet, because i didnt know if id have it or not) let me know. We'd be doing eachother a favor. |

Your #1 Match: ENTP
|
The Visionary
You are charming, outgoing, friendly. You make a good first impression. You possess good negotiating skills and can convince anyone of anything. Happy to be the center of attention, you love to tell stories and show off. You're very clever, but not disciplined enough to do well in structured environments.
You would make a great entrpreneur, marketing executive, or actor. |
